Washington said Thursday it had ordered the shuttering of Russia's San Francisco consulate and two diplomatic annexes in Washington and NY "in the spirit of parity", after Moscow's July demand for it to reduce its diplomatic staff.

The State Department ordered Russian Federation to close three of its diplomatic facilities in the u.s. on Thursday, hours after implementing Russia's demand that the USA slash the number of diplomats at its Moscow embassy by roughly 60%.
