Trump was in the NY suburb to deliver a fever-pitched speech about law and order and immigration that railed against the MS-13, an LA-based gang with connections to El Salvador and Honduras.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday traveled to El Salvador to spend two days seeking stronger cooperation from authorities in the fight against the street gang that has plagued many US cities.
New York Rep. Peter King said it is "a priority of the Trump Administration to destroy and crush MS-13".
The visit will be to the Brentwood campus of Suffolk County Community College, a neighborhood where MS-13 is known to frequent, committing ruthless killings.

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration has prioritized combating gang activity. Sessions is set to meet with the attorneys general of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador on Friday. The FBI estimates that it has roughly 10,000 members in the USA, though those numbers are fuzzy. Police there have estimated the gang now has several hundred members.
Gangs are responsible for the majority of crimes committed in El Salvador.
"We are saddened and outraged to see President Trump seek to use local tragedies for political gain - and particularly to fuel his hateful anti-immigrant agenda".
Survivor of deadly crash blames social media
The grieving little sister said Obdulia Sanchez told relatives she wished that she, and not Jacqueline, had died in the crash. The California Highway Patrol said Sanchez was driving a Buick Century when it veered onto the right shoulder of a road.
There have been 17 murders on Long Island tied to the gang since January 2016, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. He said the Republican president was "throwing meat to a red base".
"When they criminalize these kids, and tell them, 'you have no place here, '" youth advocate Sergio Argueta said. "We say, loud and clear, that, after months of vilifying our communities, he is not welcome here", the groups said in a Unity Statement issued Thursday.
He said these Long Island police officers "will liberate their towns".
"We are not all criminals", she said.
