WhatsApp in their official blog post announced: "Just previous year, we shared that one billion people around the world use WhatsApp every month". They also revealed that 250 million people use their WhatsApp status daily. Last year, the messaging app had released data suggesting that 1 billion people used WhatsApp monthly.

For reference, WhatsApp had just 450 million monthly users and 350 million daily users in Febraury 2014 when it was acquired by Facebook.

Nearly 55 billion messages are shared every day in 60 supported languages.
