HMD's next Nokia device is thought to be a high-end flagship smartphone, and now we know what it looks like. The Nokia 8 has leaked again thanks to gadgets.ndtv with real world images this time that show the device clad in gold and lots of fingerprint smudges.
The pictures demonstrate the screen working, the unique mark peruser and two capacitive keys on the front and also the double camera and LED streak on the back. There's no Zeiss logo though so this may be a pre-production unit. However, all of it is just pure whispers at the moment, and neither did HMD Global reveal as to when Nokia buyers are able to see the Android 8.0 Oreo update hit their respective Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 smartphones. The copper gold version is in line with the aforementioned renders, but notably lacks Carl Zeiss branding on its back. On this model the camera module seems to be in a contrasting hue, but it's also lacking the Zeiss branding which may mean it is a pre-producton unit. It features the 3.5mm audio jack, and it is present in the top edge of the smartphone. Rumors suggest that pricing on the smartphone will be in the area of about $700 in the US.
The Nokia 8 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835.
The Nokia 8 is tipped to run on Android 7.1 Nougat and sport a 5.3-inch QHD display. It'll also come in blue, steel, and a couple of apparent dual-tone variants with blue/gold and copper/gold being mentioned. Nokia 8 may launch with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage initially, though the rumoured 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants may see the light of the day a little bit later.
